I want to go NOW, but something about 13-15' swells seems like a bad idea  :smt013 :smt013

You scared me!  I saw rockfish closer and thought, ‘already?’.  I still have a gift certificate for a free rockfish trip that I need to use this year.  Good thing the season doesn’t close until November 30th.

Freddie and I may show up depending on the weather.  We also have a wedding to go to so we’ll see.

Season for the Bodega Bay area closes on October 31st.

Rockfish

The recreational fishery for rockfish (Sebastes sp.) is open year-round to divers and shore-based anglers. The fishery is open to boat-based anglers and divers from June 13, 2010 through October 31, 2010

Whoops, yes, you are correct!

This is what I read (for Lingcod- Point Arena to Pigeon Point):
Boat-based Anglers: Open: Jun 13–Oct 31 Closed: Jan 1–Jun 12, and Nov 1–Dec 31
Divers, Shore-based Anglers: Open: Apr 1–Nov 30 Closed: Jan 1–Mar 31, and Dec 1–Dec 31

I misread that and for some reason thought we kayakers were shore-based...
but guess that doesn’t explain why I thought I could still take my rockfishing trip... doh!

Saturday:  SE wind 7 to 16 kt. Rain likely. Mixed swell...W 3 to 4 ft and S 1 ft. Wind waves 2 to 4 ft.

Looks a little rough but might be doable. We'll see if it drop down a little by the weekend would sure be nice.

I'm still looking to hit the coast just not sure about the Fort. I haven't done so well the last few times and am looking at other options. I don't like the fact that I am fishing next to party boats for rockfish.  :smt009 Timber Cove, Ocean Cove Salt Point, Sea Ranch are the ones I am thinking. Anyone want to venture up to any of these?

I'm open, although I have been doing alright at the fort.  I won't be on the computer much today, so gimme a call if you want to hookup.  916-751-8973

Ok , I didn't make it out today but am getting everything packed and ready to hit it in the morning. Last day! Who's up for hitting the coast! Plan on either FR or Timber Cove. Looks like it might not be to bad out there.
