Wow I am overwelmed lol. You guys are great. I am working on digesting all of your information. I will test paddle as many as I can as soon as I finish the fence in the backyard. I look forward to learning from all of you and maybe even fishing with you in the future. I was also wondering do you guys do any group trips out of the area? Northern Mexico or Big Sur?

Novice....just keep an eye on the Hook-up section and you'll definitely get the chance to fish with some cool cats  :smt002

NCKA crew at Limeklin last year - somewhere in the area of Big Sur...

I may have missed somebody posting it, but do you guys know that the pedal system on the Hobies can come out in a matter of seconds? You can store it in the open well till you need it.
Why Do I paddle a kayak instead of a float tube or a pontoon boat? I like seeing where I'm going not where I've been!
Paddle safe and wrap'em tight.

About 30 seconds with a 1/4in drive socket wrench in your PFD to remove two SS bolts.
Most people make a decision to install for the whole day or leave it in the car, depends on length of trip and strength of any head wind coming home. Strong, nstall!!
You size a piece of minicell foam cut a little proud to fill the thru-hole to the hull plane, if you decide not to use it that day. Water won't slosh in and no drag effects forward motion. Attach a leash to pull the foam out because the thru-hole is the scupper hole and you want to drain ocassionally.

No tools are required to install / take down the Hobie Mirage Drive in a Hobie hull - just an easy twist of the locking knobs. It takes mere seconds.

Nice boat ya got there KayakBuilder.
