Another update - good news.

I had another PET/CT scan in August. A small spot lit up, same as the last one 2 months ago, but with slightly reduced intensity. The Dr. then informed me again that surgery may be the next step, but they will discuss my case at the tumor board and get back to me.

I anxiously waited a week to see the doc, after they discussed my case at the tumor board. He gave me good news, no evidence of recurrent cancer, and the spot that lit up is probably residual inflammation caused by the radiation treatments. I don't feel completely out of the woods yet, but we are optimistic.

I got my life back, minus the saliva.

Big thanks to NCKA for helping me get back on my feet.. I will be paying it forwards and backwards as long as i am able. I just learned how to brew beer, so I will be passing some of that around at future events.

Excellent report that it's residual inflammation and not a recurrence. Congratulations, I am sure that is a huge relief, awesome news.
