about 20 minutes later I got a channel 69 VHF call from Mike / Mickfish. He was making his way to the OK booth with his daughter Stacy. We chatted with Allen for a bit and decided to attend the rockfish seminar - Very informative + we got a few free-bees  :smt002 We then bumped into Dennis Spike and traded stories for a while. He had some nice great white (encounters) stories to tell.....and by the way, Dennis said he'd be more than happy to donate some prizes for our next NCKA derby - a really nice gesture!

The funniest thing I saw at the show was an "X BOX"  play station booth......here we are trying to get the kids out of the house and try to encourage them to participate (and enjoy) in outdoor activities (boating, fishing, hunting, camping). I simply walked by - shaking my head and rolling my eyes  :smt011

Haaaa.... mooch bought an Emrod.   I looked at them and they looked like a total gimmick at first until the guy started flinging a 1/4 oz rubber weight half way across the convention center.  They're actually pretty neat. A far cry better than the Popeil Pocket Fisheman of yesteryear.

Stacey and I had a good time Hanging with the Mooch. We drove by San Pablo Bay on the the way down and the Show was great but all I could think about was the Sturgeon Fishing and how nice it was on the bay yesterday.
When we talked with Spike we both got excited about going to Baja and fishing the Ranch. They have a 1/2 off special I think we are going this Summer.
The Emrod what can you say, it is made well and preforms well, just dosn't have the romance that a nice carbon frber or glass rod has. Good for a back up stashed in your hatch or trunk, might be fun to have an Emrod Tourney. Its too bad Joel already has a good nick name "Emrod" sounds pretty good.
