Thought I'd throw this out there...in case anyone happens to have about 50 feet of unused rope laying around.

I'm in the process of setting up a greenland rope exercise to train on during the down season.

If you've never heard of this it is called allunaariaqataarneq ("games on a harpoon line"), do a search & you'll find lots of stuff on youtube. Anyway, I've got a huge pile of woodchips to put down as padding :smt003, and I picked a couple trees in the yard that are a sufficient distance apart, so all I need is the rope to get started.

I would like to use braided line over the 3strand as it supposedly creates fewer bruises on a newbie. I prefer the thickness be at least 5/8" for the same reason and ideally I'll use the thickest line I can double up and fit in my fist.

Dubside isn't quite as amazing as Maliqiaq Padilla is. But since he's not a greenlander Dub gets some slack (pun intended) and he is one darn good roller!

However I intend to keep my truck and I'm not changing my paddling wardrobe to all black! :smt044

Santa Cruz Sentinel Headline...

Local Man Found Hanging in Ropes

A local man was found dead tangled in ropes.  Authorities cannot determine if this was a really complicated suicide attempt, foul play or a fat ass trying allunaariaqataarneq. No note was found and family said the deceased was not suicidal though after many fishing trips looking for but not catching White SeaBass, fellow workers said he walked around muttering, "f'ing ghosts!  They are all around but not for me.  AGHHHH."

Santa Cruz PD captain Jerry Peta will not rule out foul play.  "the victim was not suicidal, no guy that out of shape would be dumb enough to try allunaariaqataarneq."  A "Person Of Interest" is being sought, FishMaster the leader of a cult called the "A Hulls" a known pirate, weapons manufacturer, and provider of rope.  Said Peta, "We've had our eye on this guy for a long time."  Anyone seeing a green kayak with teeth, or van with flames and 2 drunk guys sitting on a table off the trailer hitch are encouraged to contact SC PD.
