At the tasting room there in Hopland I had a mixed beer cocktail with half Eye of the Hawk and half Black Hawk stout. I loved it, but I was lucky not to have driven there.

It sounds like a black and tan. Although I am not sure which would be which in that mix.
Looks like something else I need to try.
I do own the turtle. Best price , if you can believe it, is at Bed Bath and Beyond.

Its Black Eye they sell it at Total wine in Roseville, the stuffs pretty good! Its runs about around $2.89 for a 22oz.

This is what happens when I can't make up my mind it ends up coming in 5 gallon and gallon quantaties.

nice selection - i just tried a green flash double stout - the 8.8% alcohol sneaks up on ya and makes guiness seem like miller lite - good stuff!

Guiness IS the miller light of dark beers.
I have become a BIG fan of Eye Of The Hawk by the mendo brewing co.
At 8% it seems to be the best bang for the buck.
I haven't found it in a 12 pack......yet.
But I am diligent in my search. ;-)
Old stock ale is the top of the list smooth chocolatey and 10.1%
