Joel,

Bowling with fisherman in Pacifica isn't probably going to get many guys WAF or GAF, in fact we may lose points and be considered weird or silly.  I was hoping to do a little sturgeon fishing off of Coyote or Oyster in the am before the lunch anyone interested.

Local perching with the gang has my vote!  :smt023
I'd prefer it since it'll give me an opportunity to take my wife and dog to the beach just to hang out with everyone before lunch.  It'll be a great icebreaker!
I just hope the surf isn't so big that it totally kills the perch action.

Has anybody ever tried perching the stretch of beach just south of the HMB harbor?  If so, is it any good?  If not, any nearby suggestions?

You guys are too much ! Here I thought I would bring the wife to a nice lunch(not launch), now I want to perch fish and demo some kayaks with you guys.
She is never going to believe me that I didn't know about this when I asked her to go.

Mike... I'm not that bad.  :smt002  I wasn't thinking about perching off my kayak... just off the beach.  I wasn't even planning to bring a kayak.  Why... were you?

Hey Guys,
while I didn't do this last big fish pool I would like to try the next. This resterant sounds like it's worth trying.
So if it's not to late count me in.
Rickey.
Why Do I paddle a kayak instead of a float tube or a pontoon boat? I like seeing where I'm going not where I've been!
Paddle safe and wrap'em tight.

What time is the perching?

If anyone wants to commute from the valley let me know so we can make arrangements. I do want to try some perching with the crew in the morning.

I spoke to Marque from Coastide #2 - Tackle Shop.....according to his customers, the big perch are being caught all along Montara Beach (about 5 miles North of Princeton Harbor - it's where the restaurant "Chart House" used to be - it's now called "Outriggers")

I managed a few small perch at Rockaway Beach (a couple of miles North of Linda Mar in Pacifica) - that was a few months back - haven't gone since.

Surfers Beach (right next to the HMB jetty) is pretty flat and shallow - I never tried for perch there. No steep drop-offs.

I went to Coastside bait shop today to pick up a few things and he had some pictures of some monster Perch. He said the guy catches them every time he goes. Prawn tipped hook used grubbing style.   Montara beach 5 minutes north of Ono.  Maybe an opton?
