So My wife and I wen't to Sonoma last weekend for our anniversary. We didn't bring any kayaks, but I was able to throw the tube and some dive gear in the back of the truck. We stayed at the Fort Ross lodge. A nice cabin type room with a bbq and ocean views from the porch. We got up there late Saturday morning and I dove the small cove just south of Still water. The visibility was good with a moderate surge, I could clearly see the bottom from my tube. I was diving in about fifteen feet of water on a five foot tide. All the Ab's were tucked into the crevices and I saw a nice Black and Yellow trying to hide from me in one.
That night we were treated to a beautiful sunset from our porch with the moon following the sun into the ocean.
The following morning we hit low incoming tide at Fort Ross. I never dove there before. The Bull kelp was thick on the surface out to about forty foot depth. Visibility was murky but cleaning up with the tide. Diving about twenty feet I saw more fish here. I startled a legal cab and it was chased by another as it fled. There are many Harbor seals here and Christi had a good time taking their pictures as I dove.
We both agreed this was about the best anniversary we've had.
