My son and I had to get out of the heat of Redding and head up to Bandon and Charleston for Labor Day. Great father/son time. We saw a few Salmon hook ups; however, not many landed. We got skunked. Threw in some crab pots and each pulled out a limit. Half are already eaten and the rest will be gone by tomorrow night. We are still zip for salt water fish, but loving the jouneys.

Right on - keep trying and you'll get em.  WTG on the crabs - that's sounding very tasty.   :smt001

Yep, anytime you can get out of this heat is a good trip (and yet it's raining today...go figure!).

The Oregon coast is always a great get away; however, the drive is a bit long for a weekend. Redding can be hot as :smt077, so the trip is well worth the drive. Just thinking of the coast last for a few weeks even in our days over 110.  The rain today was interesting.

I am now thinking what's next? Trinidad for a weekend or just start hanging around locally, perhaps Lake Almanor in a month in my float tube. Maybe Lake Britton will produce a little longer for the SM Bass and Crappie. Heck, I have a honey to do list longer than I would like. Wife would whip me with the horse carrot stick if I thought about this weekend. At least I will be able to cook crab cakes this weekend after I build her a tack room. :cowboy_smoke:
