EWB, do you want to go out Saturday? Im thinking of joining Andy.. This will be my 3rd session, so lets go!

Art, yeah and its only $50, and ya get to chat with old Ray himself, cool guy!

The Manny Puig was almost $200 or something like that..

I need to check with the boss. When and where? If its not the crack of dawn perhaps a family trip.

Run it by the boss man.. It will be good cause I am getting started too, I just rent a suit from the dive shop and i am good to go...

Looking like SWS, nice a mellow there and perfect for the family, not a crazy early start...

I have an 8' Gat-Ku that I bought before I bought a gun.  I've only used it a few times but I plan to use it the next time I go out.

The few times I did use it I speared some massive perch.   :smt003

There is something to be said about the good ol polespear! Very efficient, and you can get off multiple shots. Just leave a fish on the spear and shoot another one. When choosing a banded speargun.. you will need to determine the size you want. If it is for rockfish, not too long but, not too short where the bands are hard to pull back. See you out there.

So Ray odor sent me a email today, he was quick to ship so i could have it by friday, to use saturday.. he even paid the $12 extra for shipping to get it to me, I am going to pay him the extra $12, but really cool he went out of his way to be sure I got the spear in time! Good business.

The RO Aluminum pole spear is $50 plus $10 to ship (plus and extra $12 for overnight shipping which he paid???) Nice guy..

But the spear it self is $50

Yeah, I just checked out his site.  For fifty bucks, that is a deal.  I'm in myself.  I think i'm gonna get the one with the 30" flopper tip.

Most of the time in NorCal, I can't say that using my gun has given me any advantage over a pole.   I've got 2 of the cheap fiberglass ones, but I can't pass the ROs up for the price.

Used it today, super nice quality.. Didnt see any fish as it was murky, but its nice, solid aluminum, super strong, no flex... I think the longer tip would be a great addition. His website is old school, but the product is great.
