Made it down to San Diego last week with the family and managed to get out on the yak four times.  Paddled out Torrey Pines while the kids surfed and played in the waves and La Jolla, including launching my yak from my sister's 36' Navigator at Point Loma.

The bite was slow all week, and making bait was surprisingly difficult.  Water temps were 65-68, which was cool for this time of the year there.  At Pt. Loma, landed a 15" Calico (sorry, no pic) and at La Jolla landed a nice sheepshead (CnR) off the bottom with a sabiki/squid combo.

At LJ on the mothership, we saw a spectacular dolphin show.  By the time we got the yaks launched, they had moved on.

There were reports at the dock of a few scattered yellowtail, though we couldn't confirm and there were no postings.  At any rate, memorable time on the water in San Diego.

great footage of the dolphins, and cool hearing them on top of all that background noise

curious was that done in high def? and what camera?

Yes, Hi Def. Pentax Optio W-90. I think the streaky lines are a defect, though, so need to have checked out.

Nice work, even if it was a bit slow.  Brings back memories of when I was a lot younger fishing off the southern california coast.  My parents live down in L.A. I might have to take my kayak down sometime soon.  Thanks for the report!
