OK I had to do a rewrite today, but the story should be in the Sentinel tomorrow.  May also be published in San Mateo Times, SJ Mercury, and Contra Costa Times tomorrow.

I already talked to Adam of course, and sent him my relief, well wishes, and shared the astonishment with him by phone.

Best advice from Sean Van Sommeran is to "group up" when we fish these waters,  "Sea Lions  do it all the time."

While the biggest  concentration of GWs in this area runs from October through March, this incident and the one with Dan in 2007  prove we need to be situationally aware at all times.  Other sightings and even attacks in the greater area have occered in Summer, including Capitola sightings last week, and an attack on a surfer in Marina in 2009, and a surfboard snapped last fall just North of Santa Cruz.

Adam, I loved the video, and can't believe how composed you were just after the inciodent.....You are my hero, glad you're still around bro.

Allen

Allen,

Any word from Sean Van Summeran on a size estimate based on the teeth spacing?

I wrote them via the research website and haven't heard back.

Wow! Your story is will be told for years to come. Truely amazing. I'm glad you came out of it so well.

Now go get back on that horse soon...on another yak of course. That one should forever be your trophy. :smt001

Wow. Adam!  That was certainly the adventure of a lifetime.  I hope it is the only adventure of it's type you ever have in your lifetime.  I'm glad you weren't injured.  Give 'um hell!

BTW, I think the shark attacked, saw it was Fishunter, got scared and left.
