Cooked an ab last night and wanted to try something different. Pounded and breaded the same way I usally do with crushed ritz crackers and flour. I fried the ab on each side about 20 seconds in hot oil. Then I dipped the ab in A beat egg and rolled it in cocnut shavings then threw it back in the oil to crisp it up. It was off the hook! I was afraid it would be too tough but it wasnt, still cut it with the side of my fork.
..........Sincerly A-Hull Muggle.

Y'know, i get abalone so seldom I've never tried it any other way than the traditional, pound, egg & flour, fry, consume.

but i think you have found a way to improve on that Andy. that sounds F'in fantastic.

Sounds delicious Andy!  You are quite a cook.  Next time slice it thin and try it sauteed with coconut milk and then add some spinach and spiced it up with pepper.

I had some ab tonight. Milk, flour, egg, panko and quick fry. It was the blandest ab I have ever had. Broke out some dipping sauces to liven things up.
That's what I get for trying to rush a good thing.
That coconut second coating sounds awesome. I am going to try it on the next one.
Thanks.

I bet this would taste good the Chuck sauce he had with his fried fish. That sauce was off the hook maybe someone can post that recipe to go along with this. Add a little rice and stir fry some bell peppers and onions for an some nice dish. Hmm can't wait till weekend to try it out. Who's joinin gJim and I and Timber Cove?
