Wish you could make it Adam!  Not the same without you.  I'll save a spot for you in our campsite should something change. :smt002

Bass aren't the intended target and I don't believe the lake is populated with them.  Only trout, rainbows, browns, and the occasional brook, and a native sucker.

Yup, just called the Summit Ranger Station and they confirmed what Jeff just said.  Dogs are allowed in campground.  I didn't specifically ask about kayaks, but they are allowed on boats.  I assume if lake lice are allowed in the water, then a dog is too.  Here is the number for the ranger station in Pinecrest: 209 965 3434.

I realize that the launch ramp is close but if I don't have to load my yak Saturday night and then unload it at the ramp, it is time saved.  Guess I'll decide when I get there.

Michael -

Thanks for checking that out. If I attend, Molly and I will be driving up Sunday morning.

remember if anyone catches a sacramento sucker (not a squawfish) that the fish researcher Cristie is still looking for them.  if you catch one keep it and give it to me, i will ice it and bring it to her later after i get my sacramento perch.

you probably won't catch one trolling but if you try to bait fish with worms it may be possible.

I'm downgrading my status to 50/50.  :smt010  :smt011

I wrecked my right foot in my soccer tournament today.  Heading to the ER as soon as the grandparents arrive to watch the children.

Found a report on another site.  It's not highly encouraging but it probably doesn't mean anything things since fishing conditions change frequently.

On a side note, my prognosis is looking good and it looks like I'll probably make it after all.  Went to the ER yesterday after getting home and finding that my foot had a grotesque lump on the top and shooting pain up my heal.  Not to mention that I couldn't bear weight on the darn thing.  Most excruciating pain I've ever felt.

Guess I'm just a  :knob: and  :tool:  because it turns out it's only a sprain.  I've rolled and sprained ankles in the past but nothing to this degree.  Anyhoo, it's feeling much better, to the point where I can actually put weight on it.  As long as I continue to ice and elevate, I'll be fine.

For Saturday Sara, Jeff and I plan on going to the Clarks Fork of the Stanislaus river to do some stream fishing.  I cant find the exact location we will be heading too, but here is a rough estimate on Google maps of where we plan on being:

Here is a pic from last year where we took Andy and his family there:

For Saturday Sara, Jeff and I plan on going to the Clarks Fork of the Stanislaus river to do some stream fishing.  I cant find the exact location we will be heading too, but here is a rough estimate on Google maps of where we plan on being

Having basically grown up fishing along HW 108, I finally made it up to Clark Fork this summer - actually just a couple of weeks ago.  Lots of fish to be had, they stock it pretty good.  Al, does the picture below look familiar?  BTW, that is a FABULOUS picture of you and Sara!

Kicker and Tiny: we'll do our best to save you guys a campsite.  I'm pretty sure I'll get up there Friday afternoon with my former boss.

Sorry I won't make your event. Thanks for organizing and your support & FW support of kayak angling. You are a first class guy.

Sorry to hear you won't make it Scott.  I was looking forward to competing against a person who I consider a true trout slayer.  I'm still looking to redeem myself from Brian G's first Melones event.
