Just got to reading all this, some beautiful pics guys!

Craig and Linelle, thanks much for a great time.
Thank you all for welcoming my family and a few friends, I was also celebrating a long times friends 40th bday.

I did not stay up late and party, as i had my little one with me, but none the less good times at a great spot.
My wife was super stoked her Enchilada Casserole was all gone at the pot luck, she doesnt cook much so she was pretty proud of her contribution..

My only complaint is, the weekend just went too fast!

Congratulations too Ricci and Christina, see ya in snata cruz sometime!
Marcos and Rich too! You guys all did amazing!

Joel, thanks so much for the "thank you" plaque you made for Raquel and I, we were so surprised and honored you thought of us!

some day I will drink enough beer to try that.  :smt006
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

Hello All :smt006
Thanks for a warm welcome and it was a pleasure to meet as many of you as I did. Tote invited my wife Denise and I to join Becky and himself, John and Lisa to an amazing weekend in Albion.  He wasn't lying. What a nice group of people. Although I don't have a yak and my back is currently not letting me do much of anything I look forward to many more outings, getting a yak of my own and fishing along side of you instead of watching you paddle out to the horizon.

Again,
Thank you   :hello2:

Scott

What an incredible Albion Open 2010. Thanks to everyone involved, but especially to Craig and Linelle for a superb event. A job exceptionally well done, Craig.   :thumleft:

yeah Jim, i hadn't seen sean in ages. i am sure glad we decided to open the event to the public so people like him could participate.

I don't remember it ever being closed to the public?  I always had folks that were non-ncka attend.

Besides, without guests who's gonna rescue the members? :smt044

Seriously...we had a great time.  Craig did me proud.  I ate too much.  I caught a full hand.  Life is good.

sorry for the late post. Again a very enjoyable NCKA event..much appreciation to Craig and Linelle, the sponsors and donors for making everything come together.. your efforts help facilatate an event which brings good people together sharing a common cause..

I was pleased to be able to catch both GSiv and Albion for the first time this season..Its great getting to meet and make more and more friends in this community..the level of comraderie is truly heart warming.

a special thanks to my fishing partner HobieDave for letting me squat on his camp site yet again...plus kayakjack for extending his formitable kitchen platform.(thanks for turning me onto Racer5 brew.. ) it was good to meet BWOden and experience his thai noodles..Cam you are a talented man indeed..both of you guys rock.
was it brian the guy from Lodi? thanks for bringing the home picked peaches and nectarines.. ( I forgot your screen name. Can you PM me?)

As for the fishing..first timer at Albion so thanks to  the guys who passed down the tips as to where to start out. I was spooked by the big swells near the cove opening..so much so  I didnt dare delpoy my FF nor set up my gear.. I didnt feel like taking my eyes off the breaking waves and mixed swells. after 20 minutes I almost bailed and told Hobiedave  I was heading back to fish inside the cove....after coming back in towards the wash rocks I began feeling a little more at ease and decided to give it a try..  I figured it was a good opportunity  to  build on my big blue experience. I  was thankful I took the MBK ocean safety course with Aaron and Holakai last season and mentally rehearsed self rescue proecedures.

plus my HobieAdventure is a sea kayak so now was a good time as ever to see how my rig handled the swells. (glad I did as I discovered later on that I took in 4-5 gallons of water. cant figure if water is entering from fwd or center hatches so I need to do some investigation...either way.. I will no longer hold out on the self bailing suction device.

things settled down for me as I started to get into the fish.
I was rigged way too big as I was using a home modified  8oz swimbait.still managed to score a 15" cabezon and a few rockies.. but they were mostly small and were sent back down with a stern warning to get bigger..

finished the afternoon sightseeing up the river to the barge house with Hobiedave and his wife Pam...the stretch along the river viewing the redwoods was great..

sunday ventured out with BigJim, andy, jim, and Gabrial to fetch an ab.. I was reminded  the value of good fitting equipment..my jacket was so damn tight and uncomfortable I couldn't get relaxed in the water and take a vfull breadth..so  I decided to go to plan B and just rock pick nearby the guys. finally scored a barely legal one and  fiugred thats all I really needed for dinner.  wrapped up with a brew on the beach with the boys.

what a great weekend building friendships, playing on the ocean, and taking in the scenary of our awesome coastline..
Someone above nailed it...can't believe the weekend came and went so fast..Now  I must face post tourney blues..

thanks everyone for putting things together to facilitate the event.

It's odd how few people fell in the drink at Albion. At GS4 we had 6 or more go in the dring with almost flat calm conditions, and at Albion we had only one yak show it's bottom side out on the water. Speaking of that, where is "Dunk"?
Never argue with an idiot. They'll just drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience.
