Thanks, Mooch!  :smt006

It's been a real good one, too.

I'm at work.

I'm sick.

There was no point in taking today off because there's 15-20' swells out there.

And I have to go to court tomorrow for a fishing infraction of all things.

How embarrassing. Someone like myself who's always preaching the regs gets popped for not having a Bay/Delta stamp on the Petaluma River. (You need a stamp east of the 101 and I was 20 yards east of the 101.)

You can see the bridge right behind me. After I got the "infraction" I went and bought a B/D Stamp then caught this 45 minutes later.

How many damn stamps - besides Bay / Delta - do we need to fish Norcal? Is there one for Steelhead too?

Yup. I'm pretty sure there's a punch card system similar to abs.

Don't take it from me, though, 'cause I'll be in court tomorrow for a fishing infraction!  :smt005

Joel there is a Steelhead Report Card you have to fill it out before you fish each day and as you keep fish and log any natives you release.
Then you have to mail it in each year, on the plus it's a great way to record when you caught fish I put the river flow info each day, also
the section of river I fish. Then when the river is at a certain level I know the best areas to fish.

Justin what beach would be a good bet for perch on the 26th around Bodega-Jenner
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

My go to beaches are South Salmon Creek and Bodega Dunes. If the swell report below holds true for Monday, then just about every beach from Bodega to Point Arena will be pretty much unfishable. I've fished the Dunes in 10' swells but it was frustrating fishing for only 2 small walleyes.

Mon
S winds 20 to 30 kt. Wind waves 3 to 6 ft. W swell 14 to 16 ft. A chance of rain.

Still if it gets near 10' in the next week or so I might give it a shot. I just bought my dad some nice waders so he can go out with me, and I'd like to get out there with him sometime next week.
