I am going to Sacramento for work once a week for the next four weeks.  I get off at 1:00 so I hope to fish until dark, or a little after if the bass are biting.  My research came up with Sacramento Marina, only $8 and 24 hour access.   Any one know if that place is fairly safe for my car full of tools, or maybe some other Sac launch that doesn't close at dusk? Thanks Chris

I've launched my PB there plenty of times at the public ramp. Never had a problem. You know any time you leave your vehicle at a ramp or launch, people know you are gone from the area. Bad people will do bad things when they have an opportunity. Someone recently put up a post about launching in the marina and not the ramp. I'll try to dig that up and post. I myself would still launch there, but I never leave my truck loaded at any ramp. My office is right down the street from there. I'm sure you could leave your tools there if you wanted, but you could not get them till 9 or so in the morning.

I would not consider that area very safe for a car left unattended. Unfortunately, I can't suggest any safe places along the river for a car full of tools after dusk.

Like Alfredo states. Not with a truck full of tools.

Thanks everyone.  I built the exhibit today, and turns out all I need to bring is windex and a rag to clean the booth for the next 3 Fridays.  So no worries, Sacramento bass here I come!  Not often my boss pays my gas to go fishing.

Post a report if you have a chance - I was hoping to explore the area this week but I've got late meetings tonight and tomorrow.  The marina is just about 5 miles north of me.
