dont worry about looks, all about performance. not a great angle pic.  Keep in mind your height. dont know how tall you are but many yaks wont accomadate.

Yeah, I think I'd pass on that one, not so much the look but the style is pretty limiting.

Take these guys up on their offers for loaners if you can then hang back awhile, something will turn up soon.

they used to rent those outta cap wharf.  the pic is probably one of their fleet that they sold, or maybe its a rental.  looks like cap in the background.

EG, seriously dude, if you want a good deal on a boat, you gotta jump on the classified when they post.  Otherwise, no dice during the middle of the season.  Otherwise, if your willing to wait for quality and price, your best bet is to grab a loaner here and there, then wait until the end of the season.  come september onward, you'll see so many more used boats on sale you'll be kicking yourself.  All the major stores sell their fleet at he end of the season, and people who are getting out of the sport also unload their stuff.  good luck dude

I found this beast and was the first to call, it seems like a great deal for the price although the kayak is atleast 20 years old. i think im going to jump on it and get in the sport and maybe at the end of the season or next year il find another craft.

id wait if I were you, i dont think you will be happy with that fr long, but i could be wrong, for me comfort goes a long way when you r out there 6-7 hours at a time..

I went to my local yak shop, during a sale and put money down and made payments.

Also you have had a few offers for loaners, maybe try that route too, i just dont thinkl you will be happy for long on that rig.

yeah that may be ok for ab diving (on and off all day long) but you will reget that when you gotta sit in that wet seat for 5+ hrs....Keep looking I'd shoot for a scupper pro (a bit tippy) or a scrambler.

here are a few good ones

$85 bucks, would get you on the water but as others have mentioned that's not a real practical boat for you.

With connections in the harbor area you might find something by asking around, perhaps Half Moon Bay Yaks or others would be agreeable to trading some labor for rentals,

I have a son who also gets impatient as I did when I was your age,

What is your price range?  Put it out there you might prompt someone to sell one of their fleet,

Good Luck

Dale may be on to something. I see yaks on boats in the harbor. Maybe some labor for their boat. There always some work to be done on a boat.

Ya, I've got a loaner too, here in Santa Cruz....We might be able to work out some sort of trade out as well.

though I'm a bit more partial to the New Captain Pete, because Dennis BAxter is so funny......
