Hello, i am a 19 year old male living in El granada(Half Moon Bay), about 30 miles south of san fransisco. I recently rented a kayak with a friend and took my rod along just for fun. being out there was an amazing feeling and i really liked the exercise i got from kayaking. i have recently began training as a deckhand on the Queen of Hearts in the harbor here and it has given me a great outlook on fishing.
But anyways on to my dilemma, i do not have a kayak! i do not have a massive amount of funds to offer for one, but i am extremely physically fit, weight train daily, and follow instructions well. I am willing to do labor for you, your grandma, or whoever you would like me to in trade for a kayak. I am also willing to put in some money if necessary. Any ideas or referrals are much appreciated!
Tight lines everyone!
Zachary

edit * just thought i would add in that i used to be a computer technician and can work on hardware and software, im experienced with dog walking, and if you have a double kayak and need 2 men for the job, i have a friend that will help.

Suggestion: sign up for the REI newsletter, they have those REI return items sales.  Last one they had at the Saratoga store, they had at 15' yellow kayak for 200.00 dollars.

Or you can wait here forever!!!!! Lol

There are several for sale on the board and be sure to check CL on a daily basis.  Doing your homework and due diligence will land you a yak for a good price.

C/L is a great place to find one; but you MUST be fast! All good deals are picked up quickly.
Good luck, Bill

Thank you all i really appreciate the responses, i have signed up for the rei newsletter as 200 dollars does not sound bad for a kayak  :smt005, i have been monitoring craigslist daily on my computer and iphone but not too many good deals have appeared, i will continue to keep my eye out.

Wish I had an extra kayak, I have tons of laboring work on my property (retaining walls, drainage ditches etc)
Id post it up on craigslist (about wanting to trade work for kayak) too, can't hurt.

I keep looking in the classifieds section of the board and PM people selling. Lots of ppl are open to trades. Hell a deckhand on a party boat should be able to find a friend!

Come out Saturday and meet us...

There is a chance my BigYak will be free for the day...

I will know tonight and will post up and let you know...if my buddy flakes you would be welcome to use it for the day...

It is about the most stable fishing platform you can imagine!  :smt002  :smt005

I can't sell it cuz I am saving it for my daughter but am open to loaning it out/letting you use it to come fishing with us!!  :smt006

If my BigYak is taken, we have been offered the use of up to 4 SUPs from Scott Ruble at CoveWater SUP in Santa Cruz...so far nobody has claimed one for the day...you could take one of those out and have fun with us!!!

I am sure once you meet a bunch of these guys your lack of kayak problems will end up working themselves out...or at the very least you will meet  a bunch of great people and fishing partners!!

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

You guys are all awesome! im not sure if il be able to make it to SC because i am now working in the tackle shop as well as on the boat, but that is a great deal on that kayak, i may just have to splurge and get my own craft. I messaged just about every person selling a kayak on craigslist with my offer, and i also posted a will work for kayak ad.

Would you be willing to come over and let my mom watch you clean the pool after you've lifted weights?  (BTW: she doesn't have a pool.)

Shoot me an email if you are ever in the South Bay and want to take out a yak.  I've got a loaner OK Caper don't mind letting you try anytime.
