Sounds like a good time, I was planning to hit Lewiston on Sunday but my weekend will be spent ripping out my back patio (3-yr old went face first on the wet tile, his first stitches!).  My family will all be up in Weaverville for the fireworks and parade.

I've heard Lewiston is slow, still not on the DFG plant list so it's a matter of finding the holdovers.  Trinity Lake should fish well, rockpiles on the north end.  I had a few buddies fish the Burnt Ranch Falls over the weekend and they blanked out, but the fish should be coming up anytime.

tight lines,

Just talked to a friend who fishes up there a lot and is headed that way this weekend in a PB. He says the Kokanee bite is highly underrated and overlooked.

Good luck

I wish I could join I love that area the sec of river between the two lakes can be nuts when they are generating power we would drift night crawlers and did very well, and trolling the tules with rapalas or streamers just after they stop. There used to be a # you could call to get the schedule. Suit up that water is frikkin freezing.

For awhile Lewiston held the state brown trout record. Over 26 pounds. Caught from shore by a teen angler then a PBer got him into his boat for the rest of the fight. Back in the eighties. Like 85 maybe. Good luck Duane and Dave. The water is high at all the lakes.
