We always surfed in Mex and always went to the same taco lady who finally bartered her recipe in exchange for a few old computer we gave her kids...well worth it! Really basic but super good!
2 cups flour
1 tbl spoon baking powder
1 tbl spoon pepper
1.5 tbl spoon regular frenchs yellow mustard
And add water to gain desired consistency!
Dip wipe off excess and fry!

She made her white sauce using evaporated milk and mayo. Just enough milk to make it liquidy!

Enjoy

The white sauce is for dipping or for the bottom of the taco? Like tartar sauce? Thanks

I tried this recipe and it turned out great. I did one change was to use beer instead of water. I did use a heavier beer so I think I will try a lighter beer next time. Maybe I'll ask Big Jim for one of those bud light lime beers... :smt044

Just made it.  It was awesome.  Im really impressed with this recipe.  I followed it word for word.  Next time when making the white sauce I'm going to add a splash of Tapatio to the mix.

Thanks for sharing; a quick and easy white or pink sauce, is to mix mayo with some hot sauce or saracha and then add a little water to desired consistency. Sssh- don't tell anyone, its my secret sauce..... enjoy Mike
