Acting off Duane's report we bailed off P-Dice & flew over the bay to Alameda.....and it was a good call! Craig started the day with a good size leopard shark.....released to fight again. Worked our way down the wall and didn't see anyone catching anything.

I finally hooked up and landed a good one despite getting overly excited and allowing the halibut to get back out of my net. Got damn lucky.  Very next drift Craig nailed one too! FAC and progressively hotter until 1pm and then it was blown in seconds. Met up with Kingfisher & Novofish, good to meet you guys, OTW. Chris thanks for the bait donation.  Thanks to Duane & others reports, & Craig for making the call. WooHoo! Anybody want to go sturgeon fishing!  :smt003

Jim, I forgot the color of your kayak...blue? If so, I was in a PB nearby and we may have seen you moving south from the rockwall. There was another PB much closer to the rockwall who was motoring backwards for some reason.

Right on Jim! You get around man. Nice job on the hali, Craig too. I thought Craig was too tired to dive with us today.

Jim and I headed down tp Alameda for a little butt action(harhar). Picked up some live bait at that little bait shack run by oh the nicest man in the bait world(sound familiar?). Arrived at the high school at 7am and proceeded to be amazed at how clean the johns were this time around. You dont wanna know. Started by the flagpole and not much going on there. Top of the tide was at 8:15am so we drifted slowly down the wall to the second opening , marking a shitload of bait as we went. Jims sabiki loses the weight at the end of the rod and the sabiki rig falls down inside. this is a GD project at home, so we forgot that. Right at the second opening Jim get slammed right in front of a power boat. Gets it to the net and proceeds to get his first halibut splash bath of 2010. As he drifts by with this HUGE grin on his purty little face I move back up to the top of the opening and set up shop right in front of the PBers who have now on the line a mondo ray. I also notice that on the bow there just happens to be a nice looking lady sunbathing topless lying on her stomach. The world is just right sometimes. Know what I mean? So, oh yea, fishing. Thats what we are talking about. Got lost for sec , sorry. Ahemmmmm. I get a little take down, put it in free spool. Feed, feed , feed. Fish on ! I yell FISH-ON and then as I look to my right the sunbather sits up promptly and forgets all about her uncovered, Ahemmmmm, areas.I look at her, I look at my rod. :smt003 I look at her. :smt006 All too soon its over. Fish in the net, on the clip and got my big hali bath of 2010 from the thrashing going on in the net. I turn around and look at the city in all her glory and know this. ILOVE CALIFORNIA!

Got to the launch a little late - 10:30am
Trolled frozen Herring North to the end of the 2nd wall.
Finally turned my radio on and was hailed by Kingfisher - good to fish with you!
Met up with Saltydog and Ravensblack each having already scored 30+ inch Halis!
Got a shiner off Kingfisher(thanks) and drifted it back to the launch for nada.
Got a little breezy as we were coming in.
OTW for about 4 hrs.
Great to meet some NCKA folks!
