Good for you Joel getting some other opinons, just cause they charge a lot doesn't mean they are all top of their class!!!!  Doctors are often wrong, in my experience it has been nurses who are more right on!!! Keep fightin like pac man!

Joel - I know there are some major challenges for you but  faith and hope have not abandoned you or us. Your brothers and sisters are here to help you through these days and soon we will fish together again. I believe you will beat this not just because you are one stubborn hella asian,  but because breast cancer research and survival is pretty good regardless of stage. Mooch, great to hear about the direction change. Ordeals like this are tough enough but being able to see there's a better way and actually doing it is awesome! Your brothers in the NW are always thinking of you. Much love brother Joel.

Just got back from the Stanford Cancer Research Hospital for a third opinion. The good news is that my oncologist from Seton Hospital and the Oncologist from Stanford see eye to eye. Initially, there was some doubt regarding the diagnosis of breast cancer because the mammogram and the the MRI test were negative but further studies were made and they have concluded that it is metastatic breast cancer. Both doctors agree that I'm taking the right meds as of now BUT one particular drug (Tamoxifen) needs more time / more doses for it to show that it's really working. I'm crossing my fingers that it will help my issues with being anemic. Stanford seems to think that my earlier chemo treatments cause some sort of side effects to my bone marrow thus causing low blood production.

Unfortunately for me, my cancer is at stage 4 and Male Breast Cancer is rare and the treatments are still not up to par compared to Women's Breast Cancer. I've been told that I'll be on constant medication for the rest of my life. The challenge will be dealing with the side effects of each drug that I have to take.  And if the meds don't seem to work in the long run, there are other experimental drugs that are available. There is no cure for me right now but I know studies are being made.

Once again, I want to thank NCKA for the continued support.
