Just wanted to give a shout out to the nursing staff of San Mateo Med / Infusion Center for their never ending genuine care and hospitality. These good folks have been treating me and many other cancer patients very well and always go that extra mile. If you ever come across a nurse, shake their hand, pat 'em on the back and thank them for what they do. They simply don't get enough credit for what they do EVERYDAY! They deserve a lot more than just a paycheck.

*I've heard many say that in the Health care business...some employees are advised not to get too involved with their patients - to protect themselves from the pain and guilt of maybe losing a patient friend. Well, all I can say that these individuals treat me (and others) like an extended family member (just like NCKA) and there's no better feeling than that. It's simply PRICELESS.

just an FYI, my hydration is no longer a problem. Right now, my Magnesium level is low. So basically that's what I'm currently working on. Daily recommended daily dose of magnesium for:

* Adult male: 400 milligrams
* adult female: 300 milligrams
* pregnant woman: 300 to 400 milligrams
* children between ages of 3 to 12: 80 to 250 milligrams
* children between ages 13 to 18: 300 to 400 milligrams

*** more info on foods high in Magnesium: (my nurse took the time to look this up on the internet while I was in chemo session and gave me a hard copy....going above in beyond :salut:)

http://www.tandurast.com/minerals/foods-high-in-magnesium.html

*the problem with some of the listed foods rich in magnesium are not good for my Pulmonary Embolism (like spinach and broccoli or anything that is rich in vitamin K) and also with my gout (like oysters and scallop). So I'm constantly on the look out for what i eat an drink to sustain my self preservation.

- just thought I'd pass on what I've learned/experienced so far....cause I care about this community  :smt008

My advise:  put a lot more stock into your health.....without good health, you'd be stuck on the sidelines with me, wishing you had  :smt045

It takes a special person to do that kind of work, and my hats off to all of them  :smt002  I've donated money to Hospice care facilities after they took such great care of my Mom when she was ill.

Glad to hear they are taking great care of you there!!   :smt001  We should go catch them some fish to repay their hospitality  :smt044

Mooch, that doctor looks like Obama's little brother!
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

  Hello Mooch. I just spent 5 days at the hospital with my 4 month old. It's not a good feeling when the doctor tells you to take her to emergency. The hospital people really do a good job, and they made me feel better. You are right, I really appreciate them.
  BTW,the real reason I decided to post is because that hottie in the purple you had your arm around did not have a wedding ring on. Keep it up Joel, we all know lots of survivors.
