California Department of Fish and Game News Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - May 28, 2010

Contacts :  Dr. Robert K. Brodberg, OEHHA, (916) 323-4010
Alexia Retallack, Department of Fish and Game,  (916) 322-1683

Due to a spill of unknown volume, the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) advises anglers and shell fish harvesters to cease fishing and harvesting from shoreline and breakwater areas inside the breakwater to Pillar Point Harbor until further notice.

In addition, OEHHA advises that anglers on the water avoid fishing in areas where there is a visible sheen on the water and that they should not consume fish or shellfish with an oily smell or feel.
