....and I don't have to grow a beard this year.

Tried on Saturday for nada (well, two takedowns, one snapped line, one raked bait). Using my little Plano bucket, I soon ran out of bait, seemed like live sardines were the ONLY thing enticing the bite. Whole squid didn't even get a nibble.

Today Boccie had bait and I had my bait tank. 25 live sardines stayed good all day.  Went right outside the harbor to the same spot.  38 FOW 2d drop around 7:15 got the right kine.  Small but gaffable.  Satisfaction was mine.

Later hooked two bolinas and one (barely) legal ling, but let them all go so I could keep fishing two rods.

No more luck though,  Came in around 10:30.  My daughter was working as dock rat for Kayak Connection (how cool is that!), so she took these shots.

Now the weather is settling down maybe SC will start producing flatties like last year.

I saw a few kayak fishermen out there, all in Hobies, but couldn't raise anyone on CH 69....  Later at the docks I met Jeff, a good buddy of Tall Paul.  We swapped some story.

Came home to hot tub, lunch, and 2-hour nap.

Perfect day.

Nice one Allen, WTG!  What type of live bait tank are you running on your trident?

I don't know, Allen, it looks pretty dinky compared to that mother-shipped one from last spring.   :smt002

Well done.   :smt001

Oh you mean this one?

First one of the year is always a hoot.

Thanks for remembering.  That was a REAL halibut!
