I figured driving far up north will probably give me a better chance on finding some
keeper size abs. Glad I'd made that decision and it paid off. My family played on the beach while they waited for me to do my thing. Came home with two abs and
some sea urchins. Tons of little abs all over the place. Oh and BTW, serves me
right to forget my neoprene gloves. I also came home with some souvenirs, cut up
and scraped hands. :smt003 :smt044 I almost forgot to share my location. I went
up north to Fort Bragg.

Right on Jed, you have some fine meals ahead of you.  How do you prepare the urchins?  I've had uni once, and I dunno if I'll have it again...it was too strong-tasting for me.

Thanks guys :smt006 Chris, you pay top dollars for those Uni. I love them fresh
right out of the shell and eat it just like that. Of course, it is an acquired taste.
It is not for everybody but most like them a lot. When you have them at some
Japanese restaurant, they normally serve them wrapped in sea weed with rice
under the uni. Yeah, I can't wait to do it again hopefully fully dressed in diving
suit and hang with my NCKA bros.

Hojo, Kim saw some abs but weren't keepers. I will be fabricating a boogie board
soon. I was inspired by KayakJack's setup.

Jed,
Nice work.  I need to get out again soon.  I haven't been out since GS-4.  The weather just hasn't cooperated on the days I can fish.  Dave gets back from Hawaii today.  I would think there's a good chance that we'll get out sometime this week.  I still want to try clamming at Lawson's but it looks like the best tides will be around the middle of the month.

Nice looking haul you got there,

pickin is the hard way to do it too, get that suit and get in there, many many places there are more abs than you can count in 8 ft of water. (And yeah, sometimes not)

I have never seen that place I go up there with so many folks now than ever. Thank God DFG was active that day. It makes me really sad how people could go
way over board on taking so much abs. I am not an expert but my understanding
is that abs takes many years to grow. :smt009
