Holy S*&$#! " Watch Out!!! "

Saw a similar scam from CL that delt with purchasing a nice electric guitar for $1400. 

Seller only wants to deal with a serious buyer, no tire kickers.
The buyer and seller planned to meet at a well known grocery store parking lot that was supposedly half way between them.  Buyer shows up and looks for seller's described vehicle. After waiting over an hour, he decides to leave.

About 20 mins after he gets back home, someone knocks on his door.  He answers and gets bum rushed into the house, where the guitar seller and his buddies do a beat down and take the $1400 plus other stuff in the house. 

The scam was planned from the beginning to get a buyer for a fake item to show up to purchase at an agreed location.  Seller shows up but in a different vehicle so as to not be made out by the buyer. Once buyer figures out that the seller isn't coming, he heads home, where the seller and his thugs follow.  They wait around outside until they are sure nobody else is coming or going and go collect they money that the buyer obviously has and then some.

And next thing you know you wake up in a bathtub full of ice with no kindeys.
