Castro oil seems to work decent. You can get a pellet form from Orchard or a wet form from Home depot. Also the stake that you put 3 c batteries in and it "chirps" every thirty seconds seems to work well.

May I suggest a .17HMR? I just got a new one and it is deadly accurate. They will be humanely dispatched.

Let me know!  :smt003

I always wondered how a hose connected to the exhaust would work. 30-45 minutes of idling time except for the few moments you really gass it thinking of all the GD havoc they cause. Big gopher snakes was another thing. Maybe Allen will let you use his pet badger!

My dad had a bad gopher problem a few years ago. He tried everything, the hose, smoke bombs, flares. We used to laugh and tease him. Told him the neighbors probably thought he was insane..lol

I reccomend you sit down with a 9 iron and nice bottle of rum and watch caddyshack. Once you are in a proper frame of mind, go napalm on their asses !!

:smt044 I'm trying not to but that's it in a nutshell

Same with me Cam only had a few over 20yrs and now I got bunch. I don't care if they eat my plants but these babies are moving some dirt, undermined my brick patio and leave huge dirt mounds.

Anybody got a ferret they can lend me???

These traps probably aren't that humane, but they do work.  It takes some persistence but I've always stopped them at my property line.

Six pack of beer and a shovel. sit in the yard and wait till you see movement, sneak up on hole, overhead Hank Arron w/ shovel. Just hitting the mound/hole will kill them with the concussion. Tried and true. AM is best

i have heard that if you put little owl houses in the trees around your property that owls will come live in them and eat the gophers.

I have also had a gopher problem this year :smt013. Tried chewing gum, smoke bombs, flooding with water, BB Gun :smt005. I finally went old school and bought the common gopher trap that we use to use when I was a kid. The trick I've found is to set the trap and put a little peanut butter on the flap. I'm up to 8 gophers caught and hopefully I'll have number 9 in the morning. My trapline is set :smt003

I bury fish guts in the gopher holes where ever they occur and seal off the openings with dirt.[ gopher cod works best]
 It:

1. Stinks them out in organic fashion.
2. Turns into fertilizer/compost
It really works!
