Salt Point Ab dive this weekend: any recommendations/tips?

I'm planning on diving at Salt POint this weekend for the first time.
Any recommendations/tips for that area?  You don't have to tell me your honey-hole (just other advice will do), such as warnings, advisories, etc.  Won't have my yak- just my boogie board with the dive flag mount Bloodbath hooked me up with at GS4.

I would recomend south gerstle cove or fisk mill cove which is a few miles north of salt point the other good spot is around the south end of stillwater that is tyhe swell is not to big. good luck.

I thought Fisk Mill was shut down under the MLPA???

only the northern side of fisk mill the south cove is still open.

Both those areas are not easy limits-abs are there but sparse.  Dove South Gerstle a few weeks ago - no kelp around.  Fisk Mill is a longer walk, Gerstle is a short walk. I'm also from Oakland.  Prefer to dive mendocino, generally bigger abs, clearer water.

What are you calling the south cove at Fisk Mill?  What I would have thought of as the south cove is closed.

Around the corner from Stump Allen. .7 miles noth of the north point of Stump Beach. Its not really Fisk Mill cove although the southern parking lot at Fisk Mill is the start of the closure I think.

The closure line starts right about where the pay box is for the day use as you pull into the lot at Fisk mill cove so the 2 parking lots to the north are closed south lot is open but you can not pull into the park till june the gates are locked, but there are a few good pull outs to park along side of the road. good luck
