Hi Everyone,
Any of you guys familar with Shasta? My folks retired up there next to Packers bay. Going up there for X-Mas and probably couple times a year.
I'm pretty much clueless what/where/how to target . There's not much info online. There was a ESpN bass tourney there just a week or two ago. I ordered a "Fish n'Map" and will ask around when I get there too. How deep do the trout go down or do they shut down when it's real cold. Is there salmon to be had? Whatever ya got would be helpful. Thanks!

Good site, thanks Mooch. Looking forward to this trip.Slightly different tackle than my SoCal lake/bay/ocean Arsenal. Ma said last week they got 6" of snow one night and even Redding got some. She thinks might be a heavy winter cause the squirrels stock piled more than usual. We'll see.
Last time I was up there was a prefishingyak 4 years ago, out on pops' poontoon boat a couple deer swam past us on their way across the lake.

no problem!

I've never been to Shasta so I'm looking forward to your report!
