Had a great early morning outing in Cambria today.  OTW before 6:00AM to beat the wind, and off by 10:00 as the wind was starting to pick up, with a few good meals in hand.  Released two underlings and a bunch of small gophers.  I had the camera all set up in it's dry case and left it on the front seat of the truck, or I would have had some OTW shots as well.

That's a nice score for a few hours of fishing. It's funny, every time i see a red color fish I start feeling this transformation come over me!!! :smt084 :smt103 :smt119 :smt120 :smt106 :fish

Nice Stache - how was the wind and chop today?  People have been saying its a washing machine out there.

We couldn't commit to it so we went for stripers at San Antonio - let me know the next time you are going to cambria - it looks like my next shot will be memorial day wknd

JK,
The wind and chop weren't too bad at all early in the morning, but it started to blow around 10:00AM.  By the time I had everything loaded and the fish filleted, the wind and chop were looking pretty bad.   I wasn't even sure I was going to go out based on the marine forecast, but I decided to make the drive just in case it was decent enough to head out for a couple of hours.  It was a long winter, and I was aching to just get wet!

Nice catch!  How far out did you have to go for them?  I fished there once while on vacation last year, got out past the kelp line (a mile or so) and skunked out.  Couldn't find any real structure on the graph or anything.

Thanks,
beenfishin
