That's so cool on a fly.
So I'm packing my bags for the Misty Mountains, where the spirits go...........

Im... confused?  How do you catch a ling on a fly???

Thanks for the report, i'm intrigued!!!

I use a very fast sinking shooting head called T14 - T for tungsten core - linked to a intermediate type of running line. I also weight the clousers pretty heavily. Basically a slightly modified striper rig, which I use in the delta all winter to flyfish for stripers. You just use a different retrieve with rockfish. Lings will take the same as rockfish - jigged deep - but will chase flies at the surface too.
