After the Paddlefest event on Sat, I trolled the lake with a J9 Rapala and 1/4oz Kastmaster, picked up a standard issue stocked trout on each, lost one at the boat within an hour of trolling.

The water is high and the trout are biting, if anyone cares to go after em.  Had the lake to myself.

he said he was going to.....and he did just THAT!  The wind was pushing up tiny sheep, but he still got the job done!

I guess if you don't advertise an event well enough,,,,,only a few will show up. :smt011
I'm glad i was there, just incase any kids wanted to learn something.  :smt012

It's a real shame the paddlefest was a bust...

Tons of potential at that location.  Acres of available parking, picnic tables, beautiful green grass...  too bad they charge you to sneeze.

I'd have gladly put out some fliers if some had been made available.  I live 2 miles away and would have never known about it if Chuck hadn't posted it here.

Yep. Much better advanced notice would have helped.

I live so close to the place I wanted to at least go say Hello, and check out the hobie, but Rockfish Opener got in the way ;) I Would've planned it better if given more advance notice.

Thanks for the report Eric. I may have to call in during the week to get that
rainbow out of the way before all other fishing starts.

I took my wife and kids out there on Sunday. Met ChuckE and took a Hobie out for a spin, I wasn't sure how I would feel about the peddles, but its pretty nice. Thanks Chuck. My wife and I were surprised they didn't do a better job with the event. Someone cooking up burgers, sausages, and tofu for the hardcore yakers could have made a killing. Maybe a little music also. There just wasn't any reason to stick around after a few test paddles.

WTG, Eric B, on the hookups after the event - that's the way to cap off a day.   :smt001

Too bad to read on about about the disappointing event though.
