Here's a pic of most of the broken parts that came off brdopys truck. I could have gotten a picture of all of the parts if I had had my camera out when there was fan blades bouncing off the window. Not to mention once we finally got the truck to the beach lot there was a guy there that told us we couldn't park there untill the beach was open, but with steam pouring out from under the hood there was no way we were moving.

Definatley a f***ed up day other than the fishing part. I'm glad that we caught a few fish though. I could have done without the loss of my keys, camera and phone though...

Sorry, to hear about your mishap.  However, it sounds like you still got some decent fishing in.  Nice job!  Turns out that my trip to stillwater was also really pricey as I just got an estimate of $1500.00 to fix the problem wih my car that occurred when I went to the stillwater hookup :( .

You guys are like marines or something, adapt and overcome, despite the odds, and now a great story to boot.

If it's any consolation, I lost my bluetooth and paddle when I went clamming last week.
As I was digging, i put my bluetooth to the side so it doesn't fall into the hole - a seagull saw the shiny little thing, probably thought it was a shiner, and took off with it.  I also made a mistake of not leashing my paddle, and off it went.  $200 for fresh mirugai.

To tell you the truth, I was so friggin happy to be eating fresh mirugai at the beach, skinning the thing with my teeth, dipping it into the wasabi that Allan brought (and savoring the crunchy and sweet taste, complemented by hints of saltwater to balance out the flavor)  - that I didn't care that day.  Welcome to the madness?

Of course, now that the sweet flavor is long gone from my tastebuds- I have bittersweet memories of the day.

I have a 1999 honda civic si and one of the cylinders lost all compression so the car needs engine work done.

When we were partying down on Saturday at SWC a group of seagulls stole a bag of bait from one of the kayaks.  When people went to retrieve it from them, they flew off with a smaller bag from inside that was half full of water and bait and fought over it in the water.  I was amazed they could lift that much!    :smt005

But now I am sure they were Salinas Seagulls and they were definitely jacking you for your stuff. :smt044

Great report, sorry for the loss and all, but what a day to remember!!!  Hopefully next time you will recoup some of that loss in fish  :smt002
