I caught this sculpin from the beach in Timber Cove.  Never came across one like this with these large horns.  The fish itself was only about 10".  Anyone know what type it is?

Thanks for the info, BSteves.  I've fished since the early 60's, (learned at the Berkeley pier) and have never seen one before.

I caught two yesterday that were pretty damn big. One was pushing 18" and put up a hell of a fight. I thought it was a cab 'til I saw the horns. Didn't know they got that big.

I think we should include the Sculpin in the AOTY.......let's call it the "bonus fish" or the "Mega Lottery Fish"  that has the most points per inch of all the species :smt002

I got one at HMB last week.  I thought it was an Irish Lord.  Kind of purple color and really big horns and a big head with large fins like a Cabezon. I released it and didn't get a picture.
