Both bass are spots. LMB have the jaw way behind the eye. Next time feel their tongue. Spots have teeth on it.

Still better than working.

Tight lines~!

It was great fishing with you today Don. I wished the bite was better but that's
how it goes sometimes. I only managed to catch two fish. A spotted and a SMB.
I tried fishing for kokes and kings for two hours with no hit. Need to do more
research on how to fish for these fish. I'll include pictures tomorrow, too tired. BTW, the bass were caught on minnows.

I agree two spots.  Okay, but a triple is still respectable.  The fish at Verona looks like a smallie to me, and a nice one too!

That last fish with the red eyes is a smallie/spot hybrid. There's a lot of them at Folsom lake. They have the same general shape and markings of a spot with the bronze color and red eyes of a smallmouth.

Since it's both, I'd throw it in the smallmouth AOTY since they will get much larger than most smallmouth will.

Tight lines~!

Don the spots have longer narrower tails at the wrist and the teeth on the tongue are the for sure tell tail identifier. Sometimes the spots are not as noticeble, so not always a good indicator. They also fight harder lb for lb. Nice mixed bag. Ain't it nice to see water up to the vegitation!! Nice report.
