Hey Guys, I would like to tag along if going to ARW.(We live closer and the launch is MUCH easier.)
I gave it a go last Wednesday, alone, to no avail. But I got a great workout. I would like company that knows the area
What I would tell you is to buy a drift shoot. The tide there is impressive (that day it's going from positive 5.8 ft to negative 0.3) and you really drift too fast to effectively cover the area without one. I wish I had had one that day.
Let me know.
Jeff
Unless we get people screaming Paradise, I'm down for ARW.

I'm working on freeing up my schedule for Wednesday.  Weather permitting, I prefer Paradise even though it's a lot further to drive.  That being said, I'll go where the group decides.  Has anyone checked to see if Mike's in Oakland has any shiners available?  It's pretty to close to ARW and he usually has quality bait.

I just checked with Mike's bait in Oakland and he is out of shiners and doesn't expect to have any Wednesday. I also called Loch Lomond bait near Paradise and he has them and is almost certain that he will have them available Wednesday morning.  They're kinda pricey @ $1.50 a piece but they worked well last year at paradise.

Martin:
thx for the research.  I would prefer live bait (who wouldn't?), and so I vote Paradise.

Jeff/Crocketteer, if you can, join us at Paradise!

I'm pretty sure Hobie Dave will join too.  Let's hope the weather isn't too bad.  I've been rained out too many times lately.

I wouldn't worry too much about rain (only 30% chance) but the forcast calls for strong wind on Wednesday (14 -16mph)!  Hope weather will improve by Tuesday night.

I'm bailing. Don't really like the launch at Paradise. I'm too old and fat for that.
You East Bay-ers can find live bait at Bay Tackle in El Cerrito. They have lots of other tackle there and Warren is a good source of information.

Guys,
I just checked the weather forecast and very high winds are expected all day. Neither Paradise or ARW look like a good idea.  I talked to Hobie Dave and he and I have decided to hold off and reschedule for Friday.  The weather outlook for Friday is really good with no rain and only very light winds.  I plan to hit Loch Lomand for shiners around 7:00 and be at Paradise around 7:15- 7:30.  I can pick up bait for anyone planning to join us.  Unfortunately, at $1.50 each, I'll need to know how many you want in advance.  We can settle up at the launch.

Hightide:

Send me a reply (anytime up til midnight).  U can also email me at [email protected]

If you go, I'll fish both Wednesday and Friday.
If you don't go, I don't want to go out on my own.

Martin:
Either way, I'll be fishing Friday too.  Please get some shiners for me.  If they have smelt, I'd like those too.
As for quantity, I'll take the same amount as you.  thx.

Jonathan

Good luck guys.  Hopefully the wind will not be as bad as the forecast.  Save some Butts for the Friday crew!
