my country ass somehow got lost in this discusion, but as far as the skull goes, it is clean and all the brain tissue and any other thingamajigs I could pick off it that didn't seem to be bone are gone. But, I do have parts that at this time don't have a place.

Skyboy,

I'm not sure how helpful the following illustrations are going to be for you but I promised them so here they are.

The first image is a generic fish skull with all the bones labelled.   The second figure is a lingcod skull.

Let me know if you have any questions.

That should be very helpful, when I get home I look and see If I can reconstruct. Thanks Brain. Joe

Cool... looks like an alien creature with the pointed gill plate bone.
Well... Joe.  I hope you're good at jigsaw puzzles. :laughing7:

Well. I thought I was, but, I am missing pieces. So, I got what I got. It is most of a ling skull. looks good though.

Skyboy,

If you didn't save the hyoid arch (i.e. the bones behind the main skull bone and between the gill plates) I wouldn't worry.  Those aren't necessarily part of the skull, but they are in the lingcod diagram.

I'd really like to see some pictures when you're done.  BTW, in fish class this was a multiweeek project for us and we probably spent 20-30 hrs working on it so don't feel to discouraged if it didn't all come together in a few hours.
