paddled out from mcavoys harbor to some of my ol stomping grounds looking for that hot bite thats been happening , anchored up at around 11am  in 36' of water and the outgoing current was ripping hard , grass shrimp and frozen mud were on the menu. bite was slow during the hard current , thats to be expected though and heard a few guys on the radio reporting the same thing , i was hoping the tide would slow down pretty soon but it didnt start calming untill like 4 pm , thats when the bite popped open , same guys i was chatin with lost a big fish at the boat(they were only down the way from me) ,they dropped back and within 10 minutes were hooked up again this time bringin in a 65 incher , then i started getting bit and hooked a shaker , then another , then a huge fish jumped near me and the sonar was marking logs at the bottom. this is it...my first yak sturgeon will be today , i was determined! i had to mess with my anchor in the back so i put one rod in the flush mount while i tweaked around in the back , then i felt the yak swing to the side so i turn around and my pole is dancing and lines peeling off the reel in spurts , i quickly grab it and swing back , my seeker 270 has a lot of bend to it so its always hard to tell at first if the fish is big , i start working him and i realize its not the fish i was after but it had alot heart so it gets mention, didnt measure it but it was around38 inches or so , back in he went , then as the tide slacked up the bite died but i was still getting bite here and there but it was getting dark and i had a long paddle back so i went in. the bite is on so ill be back out there next tuesday .

Man! Good try. That must have been exciting when it started going off. Going again tomorrow?

Hell Yah Andy!! Way to catch them sturgeon, you make it look easy with those lil guys "shakers". Hahah, is that your dive mask case I see in one of the pics being used as a tackle holder? Gonna have to get out that way to hunt the sturgies with you on your turf.
