if the swells cooperate, I'd love to give ocean salmon a go this year. Never tried the ocean for em.

In all of the years I've been out on opening day I've only caught one salmon when fishing out of S.F. and to the north. That includes when the season opened in Feb out of Ft.Bragg. I've always had better luck south of Half Moon Bay.
The fishing was so good I thought I was there yesterday!

You are right. My friend and I were just discussing that the other day. Monterey is usually first to go off with small fish. They will probably have it shut down by the time the big boys get to Dux.
