if the swells cooperate, I'd love to give ocean salmon a go this year. Never tried the ocean for em.

I'm thinking a little more south... But getting run over by a pack of drunk ass pbers in the jaws isn't my idea of a good time.

In all of the years I've been out on opening day I've only caught one salmon when fishing out of S.F. and to the north. That includes when the season opened in Feb out of Ft.Bragg. I've always had better luck south of Half Moon Bay.

You are right. My friend and I were just discussing that the other day. Monterey is usually first to go off with small fish. They will probably have it shut down by the time the big boys get to Dux.

what is the opening date for the north-central region ?  isn't duxbury reef closed from mlpa?

We are going to have a plastic navy trolling in formation south of Pigeon Point. Haven't decided the launch site or route yet, but avoiding PB's is a priority.
