One of those days where I shoulda stayed in Bed.....  :smt009

Problem was, I was at work, ... should have known it was off to a bad way when my relief showed up an hour late....  :smt011

Time is short per I have to get the kids at 3 in The Bay Area, so off I go.....  :smt004

Get to Verona and see about a dozen or so boat trailers, looks promising....

2nd problem, and I'll never make this mistake again....

Water is moving fast.......    :smt012       and cloudy

right away, I can only fish some protected eddies for nothing.... get a little braver and move into open water and get snagged....

immediately I'm swept over my snag and my line... ( 8lb. Mono ) is caught on my Turbo fins with the force of the river....  Hmmm, this might be trouble....

say F%$@ the lure and cut the line as fast as I can... still too late....

in a second, the line cut into my Turbo Fin ....   :smt010

if I did  not cut it quickly, it probably would have sheered right thru it....

Tried to salvaged the day till I lost 2 more prize lures in as many minutes  :smt010

total trip time otw water was maybe 20 minutes, and painful lessons to last a lifetime

oh well,  Can't have Good Fishing Days without Bad ones, but Dammit!!!!

I have not been able to get out and had High hopes today..  AAArrrggGGgggg....

anybody have an idea for a fix on this turbo fin?

I'm thinking an epoxy,  maybe something that melts plastic and then hardens....

Bummer... lesson learned and may you not make the same mistake

Did you have to pay the $10 launch fee??
Verona is a beotch to fish with that current. It gets pretty shallow.
That is one place where a QRAS comes in mighty handy.
There are a couple of 'secret' spots at Verona that produce w/o dealing with much current.
Were you targeting stripers or dinos?

I was hoping for a AOTY triple play...

Striper, LMB and Spot/Smallie, but not to be had...

Dino's would be tough there, I tried it before and with the snags, boat traffic and swift current....

Could be trouble,

and ya, I paid the $10 bucks,  I figure if I'm using the launch ramp, I should pay up.

Plus it's worth it just have a semi-safe place to park the ride....

I have alot of equipment in after work....

Thanks for the Poly weld stuff, I'll look into it, let ya guys know what comes of it....

I would just replace the turbo fins all together than taking a chance of it ripping
while you are on the water. Better safe than sorry I'd say. Just my .02

Don, I use Aquaseal to repair tears in my neoprene diving & surfing gloves. I have used it on plastic items as well. It is very strong and adheres well. The only drawback is that over time exposure to sunlight will cause it to discolor from clear to yellow. jim

Sorry for all the mishaps Don.  I would give Hobie a call to see if they have any suggestions on repairing the fin.

Where is Verona??  As for the fin, I'm with Jedmo...replace it if you can.  Or try to fix it and save some $$$ to replace the lures you lost too.  Sounds like a bummer day.  Better luck next time.

Duct tape?

It works for everything else (cept when you need bailing wire).
