I met up with Nick and Spike at about 9:30am. They brought humboldt squid heads that we cut up as bait. We launched into clear skies and calm seas. I dropped my 3 pots in 35 ft of water about a mile strait out from the jetty.Nick and Spike worked their hoop-nets along the jetty for a whole mess of rock crab. I pulled my pots after a 3 hour soak and had 8 legal male dungies. i was stoked !  Maybe  humboldt squid is the ticket.

i just had to type these posts 3 f@cking times. wtf why cant this piece of sh#t handle one f*cking paragraph and 3 pics. it says my format is to large and then deletes my post. Apparently size does matter. With all the billions of dollars of bill gates genius in this world why cant this site  accept three lousy f*cking photos from my olympus camera. or at least reject them without deleting my f_cking post. f-ck computers. i hate electronics. F-ck the internet and al gore for inventing it.

yo,

Try some of these free programs to change photo size.

http://www.faststone.org/

Image viewer is good for resize one photo at a time and just looking at the pics. Photo Resizer will do a whole directory. Shrink them to at least 800x600 and you should be ok. For sure you'll be ok at 640x480. Login time-outs... internet time-outs... all kinds of timeouts can cause problems when posting too. So try typing it up in notepad, wordpad, word, etc. before posting it. Then copy and paste it to the post.

keyboard buttons for copy and paste:

ctrl-a - select all
ctrl-c - copy
ctrl-p - paste

hope it make a little sense, sorry if is doesn't.

Late!

Jack the reason for resizing the pics is that if you had to run this website soon it would be full of information. I think the moderators are trying all the time to reduce the cost of running the website. So if we have to do a little work to help, whats wrong with that? Hone up your skills dude you are gonna need em'. Its pretty simple to re-size. want a lesson? :smt006

I understand your frustration but would appreciate if you don't use too many "F" words since we have minors reading our posts too.  Until you manage a website with "free" picture/video uploads then you'll understand how much "space" needed to store all the pictures and video from members.  It's very simple to re-size a picture to a "manageable" size:

1) Open your picture using the program "Paint" which comes with all Windows versions.
2) Click on "Image" then select "Resize/Skew" option.
3) Change the percentage for both "horizontal" and "vertical" to 30% - 50% should be good enough for most pictures.
4) Save the new "reduced" picture using new name if you want to keep the original larger file (recommended).

That's all to it.  I'm sure there're tons of other program can do the file resizing but I use "Paint" since it very simple.  Thanks for the fishing report Jack.

Jack - If you think you're having a bad day - just think about those Humbolt squids.

Your point is a good one - it's not about this website as much as it is the camera software - when we copy the photos off our cameras it would be nice if we could specify a resize setting. It does seem silly to have every little snapshot copied at 10 mb or whatever when 95% of the time a fraction of that would be fine.
