You could cook it less with a welding torch!

give her another chance and she will get better at it

What? Get it up to 950 degrees?!?!?!
I can replace a BBQ easily, a house isn't as easy to replace.
I will probably get another BBQ as we are having the Gf's son's wedding at our house in May
and I will definitely be getting my grill on. I have even recruited Zilla for the assist.

Heat management fail.

Bummer about the fire. I hate scorching good food.
Glad it didn't scorch your house!

Mike,

I did the same thing to my Charbroil, but didn't get quite the damage as Becky did to yours. One control handle is slightly misshapened, the igniter wires insulation is toast :smt009, and the paint on the garage wall is somewhat bubbled. :smt011

I now have a cleaning ritual.. I take the damn thing apart ,scrape out all the built up grease, clean the flavorizers, and scrub the grill plates. Haven't had the epic burn since!!!

Glad thats all that burned ...

Rich

Mike -

My wife did the same thing and unloaded a whole chemical fire extinguisher in my BBQ. Took me 2 weeks to clean it out.  :smt013 Say hi to Becky for me.

hey at least she got the extinguisher. I am not 100% convinced my wife would no where it is (it in plain sight on the garage wall) or how to use it....Kinda scary.

That is some serious "gun powder chicken!" I didn't know a bbq could get that
hot!  Very funny but I'm sorry about your bbq loss too.

Been there, done that.  Went to a buddy's for a BBQ over the summer, cranked all four burners up to burn the crap off from a previous event, walked inside for a beer, came out a minute later with the whole thing going up.  Luckily the fire extinguisher was handy, we we're wondering how much more it would've taken for the propane tank to blow.  Any ideas if a grill can get hot enough to actually blow up the tank?
