sean connery???HA..
sean would at least have his pants buttoned up for the photo.

nice pics..
I have walked past the lake plenty of times bringing the kiddies to 6 Flags...I always see the carp hanging out on that end of the lake (near park entrance)..they are huge.

dave..that trout looks like "nice eating" size..
did you try out the golf caddy cart?

Nice catches and another great report.  I fished that place three or four time last year and never caught a thing but you're right, it's very scenic.  Did you guys fish near the launch or did you try down by the dam?

We fished the whole lake but spent more time at the dam area.  That's where I caught the fatty LMB.

Had no idea " Marine Worlds " or what ever it is called now , lake was open to the public ! Or did ya sneak in with the fog ? Real nice bass and my guess would be the trout are being stocked , any idea who is planting them , State ?

Legally, we suppose to fish only half of the lake on the Dan Foley Park side.  The other half belongs to Marine World but they're not using it for water shows in the winter.   This lake is open to public but you should register at their main office in Vallejo (free registration and it's good for 6 months).  The State used to stock Trout there but I'm not sure they're still doing it because of the shrinking State funds!

I guess I was thinking of the wrong Lake Chabot.  The one I was thinking of is in Castro Valley.  Scenic, but I don't think there are any elephants nearby.  You guys really are fishing in your back yard!

The fish on the Marine world side are bigger Sonny,  I think they even have Salmon in there.  You just have to get through the bulletproof glass to get them.  I checked you guys out at 9:30 but I guess you were at the far end.

My bride Pam enjoyed your photo skills Sonny. The Sean Connery quip brought on major LOL & she didn't overlook the wardrobe malfunction. I forget important things sometimes, another example no PM to daviator this hookup, my bad. Tomorrow I'm getting artificial intelligence, the hair hits the dye. Pam's orders. dave...

I like the new yak.  It's fast and track well.  What Trout derby are you talking about?  Is it the F&C @ Forebay on the 20th?  I'll be carpooling with Jedmo on the 20th to the F&C.

No, he's talking about Brian G's New Melones Trout Bout - 2010 Edition - February 20th, 2010 - the first event posted for that weekend. :smt003   The sign up thread is here.

Oh...that's the one!  Too bad I already signed-up for the F&C @ Forebay.  So there're 2 hookups for next weekend and that's great!
