sunday chuck and i launched from the vallejo marina under the curious and watchful eyes of many local "characters" and probable reprobates.  we rode the big tide up river to the 37 bridge. big tide i paddled 6.1 mph at one point, i think chuck got 7.2 on the way back. cold and foggy, then cold and sunny. one keeper in a pb beside us-that is all.

That area s/b good for Sturgeon and Striper fishing around this time.  Don't know what'd happened to them.  Thanks for the report Chris.

Was caught at Bodega Mouth Saturday with a ripper outgoing that made me work FRICKIN HARD to get back. I contemplated beaching it and walking along the shore towing my boat but my wife was watching.  Also I saw you guys as I crossed over the 37 bridge Sunday around 1:00. Was 3 privates north of you so I expected a better report LOL Try just outside the jaws along the Mare Island rockwall. It's pretty sheltered there.

Thanks for the intel Chris and bummer you & Chuck didn't get any hits. I read the same report you did on that area and was checking out that launch on my DFG Striped Bass Fishing Map. Did you guys mark any on the FF? Sounds like the parking situation was a little worrisome though huh? jim

Nice try there Chris and Chuck. BTW, don't worry about those locals. They just like to stare that's all. They are harmless. :smt044

Ya I live about a mile from that launch and it is not a bad area. That seems like it would be an asskicker of a paddle against any tide. You could launch from the bend on Wilson(under 37 overpass). I have seen guys parked on 37 before the Wilson/Sacramento St exit. There is a canal there that would lead to the mouth of the Napa. Might be a closer paddle. Did you see that keeper landed? Sturgie or striper?

I have left my suburban there in the lot a dozen times in the past year and have not had any issues.  I do buy my bait and ice there and generally try to be a charming guy, so maybe I have been lucky!  I have had great success north of the 37 bridge and mixed results out near the mouth.  I have hooked a couple decent schoolies trolling when the water was more clear.  Seems to have slowed recently but they ahve to be around ths neighborhood!
