Ok. Lets get the awards out of the way first. As you all know Saltydog(akaJim) is on the AOTY boards with his first AOTY fish which just happens to be a real nice catfish. There has been some joking around amongst friends that he finally got his sturgeon at Lake Sonoma. So what better fitting place than to award Jim with a trophy acknowledging his accomplisment as the first NCKA angler to post a catfish in AOTY history. In his honor and to show how much this means to me I decided to make something for him that he can mount on the wall to remember this prestigious event.A mini catfish snare that he can keep to use or suitable for mounting in a place of honor at his home.

Oh yea, we fished at China Camp today. Myself, Saltydog and the famous Birdman. The day was glorious , the bait was fresh and plentiful. Thats it folks. Nothing else to report in the way of fish except we sat on our collective asses for 7 hours and just loved every minute of it. Thank God for kayaks and water and sometimes fish. Craig

Ah yes.....there's nothing like a good old fashioned ball busting bright & early on a sunday morning. Craig, you're the best!  :smt044 Good fishing with you & John today. See you soon. jim

PS: I'm beginning to understand what Craig meant when he said he's "going to have fun with the new AOTY rules".  :smt005

I am LMAO :smt005 :smt005 Craig. That was super cool of you to make that snare
for Jim. I'm sure out of desperation that could work for a big sturgeon. :smt003

I have to pay more attention to hook ups, othewise I would have take my boat there yesterday and you guys would have had a place to stretch and take a leak etc!  Sounds like you all did as well as I yesterday, and enjoying every minute is what it is all about!  Love the trophy, now I can wait to see what he uses it on?   Might work well on those pesky squaw fish!

That is a great award, but this is no laughing matter. I guess we will see who laughs last when Jim getts into a large school of feeding pan fish and hooks up. After a three second [almost a sliegh ride] he will be able to snare that 1Lb crappie with ease and get into the boat for maxium AOTY points leaving the rest of us in the preverbial dust. The small but mighty snare will become a permanet fixture and quickly added to the list of must have gear for kayak fishing.  :fish2

This could be the ticket for me to a long range trip for tuna. Mini catfish snares at only 19.99. Plus shipping of course. :smt044 :smt044
