Woke up and the wind was blowing about 10 mph and thought well I might as well load up and give it a try with my brother. We arrived to the launch and it was actually calm. We launched at 6:45 from the boat ramp by Sapporos and paddled out in front Cannery Row.

This is the paddle out.

Slow day. We mostly fished 130- 150’ and spent a few hours at 90’. Not much bait on the ff past 100’. My bro brought these up after a long soak at 90’.
This is the first live squirt I have ever seen.

Egg sack.

No real bites to speak of and we didn’t see anyone with a fish though you never know.

Saw an otter with something odd. I had crab envy. The otter was preoccupied and swam right up to my boat.

We found this on the bottom of my brother’s scrambler. Any ideas on what it was? Sand worm is my guess. It wove some kind of sack around itself.

Saw one other yak fisher that covered some serious water in a green malibu 2. Dude looked like he had noodle arm on the paddle in, I know I would have. Great day on the water though a wsb would have been nice.

Thanks for sharing the pics and your outing. I see that in one of your pictures you got some squid egg sacs. Good sign that the Monterey Squid is spawning in our local waters. To bad the white seabass were not hitting for you guys, better luck next time.

Did you happen to get the water Temp?

Meat Hunter...thanx a ton. there are still a few squid there, there is a full moon on the way and the water temp is similar to before the storm. We may get another chance. Good try. Valuable intel!!!!
Notice how the live squid are almost transparent........

Fish or no fish, seems like a nice day to be OTW.  Thanks for the report and pictures Tim.

hey meat hunter..
good report and nice pics..
I fished with you a while back at MBK in front of yellow buoy.
I envy your access to open water there.

see you around later in 2010 after this soaking.
