I personally don't use twitter much, probably because I don't have a smartphone.  However, I imagine there are a few of you who do.  With that in mind, I've set up a twitter account for NCKA's AOTY and I tweaked the AOTY site so that every time a new fish gets posted a tweet gets instantly sent out.

So if you use twitter here's what you need to know...

There's also a twitter link at the bottom of the AOTY page.

If you do use twitter, please remember to follow aotyncka so we(I) can have a feel how many folks are using it.  There are other twitter related tweeks I can do if it's popular enough.

Well, that went over as expected... with very little interest.  At least I know who the real geeks of NCKA are now.

How about with a little more mass appeal like Facebook?  Any interest if I set it up so that new fish posted onto the AOTY site updates a facebook page for NCKA's AOTY?   You could even make comments/talk smack about the new catches within facebook.

FYI, we already have an RSS feed set up for recent catches if anyone is into that.

Don't have a twitter account, yet! Could sign up just for this, seems too cool!  But love the idea of FB too!

Do the fB thing, as there is already a confirmed group on the NCKA group there.

I looked into Facebook.  I can't update a Facebook Group from AOTY or even Twitter, but I can update a Facebook Page.  I've created an NCKA AOTY page for now and I'll see about getting updates sent over there.  Now I'm just waiting for someone to post some fish on the AOTY site.

I wasn't able to update the NCKA Group on Facebook.  However, I did create an NCKA AOTY "page" and I've managed to push AOTY updates to it via Twitter.  If you're on Facebook search for NCKA AOTY and become a fan of the page and you'll get updated every time someone posts a new fish to the AOTY site.

Thanks Brian for all the works to make it NCKA more "visible" on the WWW!

Hi Brian,

I found the NCKA AOTY page on FB but when click on "Become a Friend" button I got "Error on page" message @ bottom left of the screen!  Can you check?

Finally, someone (redyak) posted a fish to AOTY and both Facebook and Twitter sent out updates.  It works!  If you signed up to the Facebook NCKA AOTY page or you are following the AOTYNCKA Twitter account you would have seen the following within minutes of when it was posted.

NCKA AOTY redyak just posted a 30.0 in (150.0 pt) Catfish
