Okay, it's come down to one more shot at the TITLE (truly it's more personal than just the title). I am leaning towards a bass as I can fish the full moon until midnight........

Depend on how much futher "distance" you want to put between you and your son  :smt003  I found a boat here in Monterey which will go squid fishing tomorrow so I'll be on that boat tomorrow morning  :smt001

Yeah, that is a tough one Allen.  I, too, would probably choose the bass.  Assuming Patrick has nothing else to weigh in and my math being correct, you're going to need something 23"+.  I say give Terry a call! :smt002

Again, if my calculations are correct (not like you haven't made these same calculations a million times), you'd need a 2" upgrade on a sturgie but it is so hit or miss.  At least with the bass, you know you'll get action - whether or not the fish are big enough will be another story.

Best of luck!  Whoever wins will be one well deserving champion!

Michael

David, look at Allens salmon on AOTY. Iyts 40 inches long. The largest salmon in AOTY history. He also has the largest trout in AOTY history. Go to the boathouse dude. Aurora pilings in the am and early pm then to you know where.

I say, if it was me, give it a rest.
You've done well.

Yeah, If it was ANYONE but the boy I would and it is only one more day of madness.  My New Year includes learning more about game (deer, pig, fowl, etc) and less about the fishing competition. Not that I won't join AOTY............ but let the others have their run. I am going to fish for what I love...steelhead, salmon and halibut. Oh yeah a few rock fish thrown in but only if I can make it a combo dive/fish event. Happy New Year!!

Oh, I almost forgot....If I do go to CL a certain local is probably going to share a little lake time with me...bonus!

you ain't got a chance old man. The boy is younger, stronger and better looking. you are old and wretched. The sooner you come to terms with this, the better off you'll be.

Patagonia uses "committed to the core" as their slogan, but I think they were talking about YOU O2B!

I still haven't put names on the awards yet so..........................

I think you may be redefining "hail mary" as well!

Happy New Years Eve, and thanks for being such an inspiration to a whole bunch of us here.
